On the Blog Post New Interchange at 316 and Hwy. 20 Might Just Help ... or Will It?

ReplyI agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just had that discussion Sunday night with my stepfather about traffic just backing up further down the road at Cedars and Hwy 8. But I think what they're hoping, and I'm sure they've done enough studies on this, is that enough traffic is leaving 316 at collins hill, and hwy 20 that it won't be as bad. I used to get my oil changed at Lube 3000 but haven't been in there in a while so I'll stop by and check out the map.
I'm also kind of curious to see how much more traffic the new Sugarloaf ramps will dump onto both directions of 316. Seems to me if that increases in the slightest bit it's going to be a nightmare. I like to be an optimist but then again, I'm not an engineer!

ReplyKristi, I emailed their support last night after 11pm for that very thing and a guy named Garrett emailed me at 2:20am and said he would fix it. He asked me to send him the streets I wanted to add. I sent a screen shot to him because it wasn't the entire street. So just send an email to support and they'll get on it apparently!

ReplySanta, a lot of people rely on the HOA website for information but that info is regulated by the HOA. As long as people don't use it as a platform for their personal agenda, it could be a great place to connect.

ReplyI've known about it for a while but never took the time to look into it. Someone in my office suggested it because they had created one for their neighborhood and it really took off.
I was wondering about the funding too. Then I read the FAQ and found this...
"How does Nextdoor make money?
Nextdoor is funded by Benchmark Capital and Shasta Ventures, and is focused on building a great product first and foremost. We will not sell your information to advertisers, or inundate you with banner ads and pop-ups.
Long-term, we hope to build a revenue model around working with local businesses to provide a special offers section of the website"
The site is very clean with no ads and hopefully they'll keep it that way. You can choose how much or how little your neighbors know about you. It's a win-win as far as I can see

ReplyYeah!! Exactly what I would have done. If these thugs think they can get away with this stuff they'll keep coming back. But when someone stands up and gets in their grill, or back passenger window as it was, they'll think twice. Good job anonymous butt kicking citizen!

ReplyI think Five Guys has the best burger in the area. it's good no matter what but if you leave it wrapped in the foil for about 5 minutes, it makes it even better. Problem is I can't wait that long to eat it! Maybe I should try taking it home?

ReplyYep, you've got to be quite foolish to leave anything in plain view these days. Crackheads are stealing air conditioners and copper wiring from homes so breaking a car window is nothing. I agree with Gary, if you're going to leave it out for them at least make it where they don't have to break the window. Then you'll only be out what's in your wallet and not $300 for a new window.

I don't think experience in the liquor business is necessary,....it's liquor. It sells itself. But customer service is definitely a plus. I think it should go to the people that put in the hard work to get the referendum passed, not just someone hoping to make a dollar from it.
