Freeze Warning and Wind Advisory Issued

Wind chills in the teens tonight, protect your pets and plants

UPDATE 5:16pm Tuesday - Temperatures are falling rapidly now, where we've gone from a high of 65 F degrees at 12:44pm to 46.5 F degrees right now, headed toward a low in the mid 20's tonight.

This morning, the Atlanta National Weather Service office issued a Freeze Warning for north Georgia:

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PEACHTREE CITY GA
458 AM EST TUE NOV 12 2013

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 1 AM EST
WEDNESDAY...
...FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 10 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PEACHTREE CITY HAS ISSUED A
FREEZE WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 10 AM EST WEDNESDAY. A WIND ADVISORY HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED. THIS WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 1 AM EST WEDNESDAY.

LOCATIONS...NORTH AND PORTIONS OF CENTRAL GEORGIA.

WINDS...NORTH 20 MPH GUSTING UP TO 35 MPH.

TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID TO UPPER 20S OVERNIGHT.

RESULTANT WIND CHILL READINGS WILL DROP INTO THE TEENS TONIGHT.

IMPACTS...ANY LIGHT UNSECURED OUTDOOR OBJECTS SUCH AS PATIO FURNITURE AND TRASH CANS WILL BE BLOWN AROUND WITH SUCH WINDS. ALSO... THOSE WITH SENSITIVE OUTDOOR PLANTS SHOULD MAKE PREPARATIONS TO PROTECT VEGETATION WITH FREEZING TEMPERATURES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE FORECAST TO THREATEN OUTDOOR PLANTS. THOSE WITH AGRICULTURAL INTERESTS IN THE WARNED AREA ARE ADVISED TO HARVEST OR PROTECT TENDER VEGETATION.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 20 MPH... OR GUSTS TO 35 MPH OR STRONGER ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT... ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
