Liquor, 500 DVDs, Medicine, Jewelry and Other Items Taken During Recent Burglaries

At least three Dacula homes burglarized between Dec. 2 and Dec. 6.

Gwinnett County Police are investigating three recent burglaries in the Dacula area.

On Dec. 3, police were called to a Cammie Wages Road home after the resident discovered someone had taken several tools out of his garage and out of a trailer parked near his garage. The burglary is believed to have occurred between 9 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 5 a.m. on Dec. 3. The total estimated value of the stolen tools is $5,825.

Also on Dec. 3, police were dispatched to a Freemans Walk Drive home to investigate another burglary. The resident advised she left home at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 3. When she returned around 1:30 p.m., she noticed the back door of the house had been kicked open. The woman immediately called 911 and waited for police to arrive.

"The suspect(s) went through every room and opened every drawer and cabinet," the officer noted in the report. The resident said all her electronics and expensive items appeared to be untouched, but several smaller items -- two gold rings, a gold necklace with a dolphin pendant, a Guess watch and a men's shaving bag -- were missing. The estimated value of the stolen items was listed as $520.

A third Dacula-area burglary was reported on Dec. 6. The resident said he left his Auburn Road home at 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 6 and returned at 3 p.m. to discover his home had been burglarized. The man believes the suspect(s) entered through an unlocked sliding glass door.

"He thought that his black Labrador and mixed K9 would of [sic] discouraged the intruders from entering," the officer wrote in the report. "It appeared that the K9s did not repel the intruders."

The resident said several items were taken including a cell phone, 500 DVDs, two bottles of liquor and four types of high blood pressure medication. The stolen property was valued at $660.
