Two More Hamilton Mill Area Businesses Burglarized

In total, six businesses were burglarized last weekend.

New police reports obtained Aug. 29 bring the total number of known burglaries in the Hamilton Mill area of Dacula last weekend to six.

Previously obtained reports showed at least four shops were burglarized between Aug. 24 and Aug. 26 -- two on Hamilton Creek Parkway and two on Braselton Highway in The Shops at Hamilton Mill. The newest reports detail burglaries believed to have occurred during the overnight hours of Aug. 25.

According to police, the owner of Modern Nails and Skin Care on Hamilton Creek Parkway arrived at work Monday morning, Aug. 26, and noticed the door lock had been removed from the front door. The cash register had been opened and approximately $50 taken. The store did not have a security camera system.

Police were also called to Davinci Nails and Spa, located at 3465 Braselton Highway in The Shops at Hamilton Mill, on Monday after the owner discovered the business had been burglarized. The business was equipped with video surveillance which showed an individual enter the business.

The business owner told police the burglar was able to enter the business by unscrewing the locking mechanism from the door frame. Once inside, the burglar reportedly damaged the cash drawer and pulled a set of telephone wires out of an outlet.

The owner was unable to provide police with a description of the suspect at the time of the report and indicated he would provide police with a copy of the surveillance footage as soon as he figured out how to make a copy of the images.

All six cases are listed as active.
