Disc Golf Course Construction on Track

Newest addition to Little Mulberry Park slated to open in 2014.

Rainy weather over the summer may have caused construction delays for Dacula Cork and Bottle, the new Hamilton Mill area Aldi and the Georgia Gun Club, but the Little Mulberry Park expansion remains on schedule according to Lee Croy of Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation.

Late last spring, crews began clearing ground for the $1.9 million expansion which will include a 19.4-acre, 18-hole disc golf course. The expansion will also include parking, trail access, a playground, pavilion and restroom facilities.

Croy said he hopes the weather will not present any issues and the disc golf course will open as planned in spring of 2014.

"That part of the project has gone very well -- good designer, good builder," Croy said.

The disc golf course will be the third in Gwinnett. The existing courses are located at Alexander Park in Lawrenceville and Lenora Park in Snellville.
