Former Dacula Player a 'Constant Bright Spot' for College Football Team

Marcus Cox is averaging 5.5 yards per carry and has accounted for 10 of his team's 14 touchdowns this season.

A former Dacula High School player has earned high praise for his efforts on behalf of the Appalachian State football team.

Marcus Cox, according to a report in the Watauga Democrat, has been a "constant bright spot" on the team.

Cox, who is averaging 5.5 yards per carry and has scored 10 of the Mountaineer's 14 touchdowns this season, is tied with Citadel quarterback Ben Dupree as the leading scorer in the Southern Conference.

"The thing is that he's producing," Mountaineers coach Scott Satterfield told the Watauga Democrat. "He's getting in the end zone. He's been the guy making big plays for us. When he gets into space, he's able to get away from them."
